EdTech Connect (“ETC”) takes privacy seriously. On our website, https://www.edtechconnect.com (the “Site”), we provide a data service and social information sharing network exclusively for higher education professionals. In this Privacy Policy (“Policy”), we describe how we collect, use, and disclose information that we obtain from you when you visit our Site and use our products and services (“Services”).

By visiting the Site, or using any of our Services, you agree that your personal information will be handled as described in this Policy. Your use of our Site or Services, and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and our Terms and Conditions, including its applicable limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes. ETC offers a public website where you can search for and share information about technology products, services, and providers, communicate with other users, and contribute your recommendations of various technology products. You can also connect with software providers directly on our Site.

We receive, store, and process certain types of personal information about you from your use of the Site, automatic data collection, and from certain third parties.

Information We Collect Directly From You

We will collect information directly from you when you interact with some parts of our Site. Specifically, if you would like to join our Site and have full access to software and service listings, ratings, you are required to register with us. We will collect the following required information during registration: your name, email address, job title, and campus role. You can optionally provide information such as but not limited to a summary of your experience, a list of skills, a contact phone number, city of residence, a Linked In profile URL and a list of software you use in a professional capacity.

Information We Collect Automatically

We may automatically collect the following information about your use of our Site or Services through cookies, and other technologies: your browser type and operating system; web pages you view; links you click; your IP address; the length of time you visit our Site and or use our Services; and the referring webpage that led you to our Site. How We Use Your Information

We use the information that we gather about you for the following purposes:

  1. To provide our Services to you, to communicate with you about your use of our Services, to respond to your inquiries, to fulfill your orders, and for other customer service purposes, which may include communicating with you via email.
  2. To tailor the content and information that we may send or display to you, to provide personalized help and instructions, and to otherwise personalize your experiences while using the Site or our Services.

We do not share your personal information with parties without your consent. Verified users with a .edu email address will have access to view your personal, contact and professional information.   1. For aggregated research purposes by EdTech Connect Inc.
  2. With verified recruiters only when you have opted in to share your profile

We also may share your information with the following persons and for the following purposes:

  1. Business Transfers. If we are acquired by or merged with another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer the information we have collected from you to the other company.
  2. In Response to Legal Process. We also may disclose the information we collect from you in order to comply with the law, a judicial proceeding, court order, or other legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena.
  3. To Protect Us and Others. Please also note that certain portions of your identity (your name, title and institution) will be available to all members of our Site. You are responsible for the accuracy of any information contained in your postings.

Please be aware that despite our best efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security.
